COEHR Participates in Establishing the KRI Climate Change and Human Rights Network 🌱 We are proud to announce that the Century Organization for Environment and Humanitarian Relief (COEHR) actively participated in the workshop titled “Strengthening Collaboration: Establishment of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) Climate Change and Human Rights Network” on 12th December 2024. This event, organized by UNAMI Iraq, brought together representatives from UNAMI, local NGOs, and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to address the pressing challenges of climate change in KRI. Sherwan Yassin Deputy president was attended as Representative of COEHR. The workshop highlighted critical topics, including: • The impact of environmental degradation on human rights. • The need to update Iraq’s environmental rules and policies. • The importance of promoting environmental justice awareness. 💡 COEHR’s Role in the Network: COEHR is honored to be selected as a local NGO member of this groundbreaking network. Our organization will contribute by: • Providing insights and solutions to environmental challenges. • Defining the roles of NGOs in climate change response. • Contributing to the development of the network's Terms of Reference (ToR). 🎯 Looking Ahead to 2025: This network will operate at the highest levels, involving KRG, UNAMI, and local NGOs, to: • Develop strategic plans. • Draft project proposals. • Implement sustainable solutions for climate challenges. #ClimateChange #HumanRights #Sustainability #EnvironmentalJustice #Networking #COEHR 🌍 ڕێکخراوی سێنچرى بۆ ژينگە و فرياگوزارى مرۆیی بەشداری دەکات لە دامەزراندنی تۆڕی گۆڕانی کەشوهەوا و مافی مرۆڤی لە هەرێمی کوردستانی عێراق. ڕایدەگەیەنین کە ڕێکخراوی سێنچرى بۆ ژينگە و فرياگوزارى مرۆیی (COEHR) بەشداریی لە وۆرک شۆپی " دامەزراندنی تۆڕی گۆڕانی کەشوهەوا و مافی مرۆڤی لە هەرێمی کوردستان" دا کرد لە 12ی کانوونی دووەمی 2024. ئەمە چالاکییەکە، لەلایەن یونامی عێراقەوە ڕێکخرابوو. نوێنەرانی یونامی، ڕێکخراوە ناحکومییە ناوخۆییەکان، وەزارەتە پەیوەندیدارەکانی حکومەتی هەرێمی کوردستان تێدا بەشداربوون بۆ چارەسەرکردنی ئاستەنگەکانی گۆڕانی کەشوهەوا لە هەرێمی کوردستان و عێراق. شێروان یاسین جێگری سەرۆک رێکخراو وەک نوێنەری COEHR ئامادەی وۆرکشۆپەکە بوو. لە وۆرک شۆپەکەدا تیشک خرایە سەر بابەتگەلێکی گرینگ، لەوانە: • کاریگەری تێکچوونی ژینگە لەسەر مافەکانی مرۆڤ. • پێویستی نوێکردنەوەی یاسا و سیاسەتەکانی ژینگەیی عێراق. • گرنگی پێشخستنی هۆشیاری دادپەروەری ژینگەیی. 💡 ڕۆڵی COEHR لە تۆڕەکەدا: ڕێکخراوی سێنچرى شانازی دەکات کە وەک ئەندامێکی ڕێکخراوی ناحکومی لەم تۆڕە پێشکەوتووەدا بەشداری دەکات. ڕێکخراوەکەمان دەتوانێت ڕۆڵی هەبێت لە ڕێگەی: • دابینکردنی چارەسەر بۆ ئاستەنگە ژینگەییەکان. • پێناسەکردنی ڕۆڵی ڕێکخراوە ناحکومییەکان لە وەڵامدانەوەی گۆڕانی کەشوهەوا. • بەشداریکردن لە پەرەپێدانی پەیکەری نەوەخۆیی تۆڕەکە.
